Kanyakumari beach

Kanyakumari beach is said to be the land's end of India. The Bay of Bengal confluences here with Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. On the day of Chaitrapurnima (the full moon day in April), you may have a unique experience of seeing the sunset and the moon rise over the ocean simultaneously. The sea is fairly rough. The seashore is rocky and dangerous and the people are warned to stay off the rocks.

Mahabalipuram beach

Mahabalipuram beach is located 58-km south of Chennai on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. There are many beautiful monuments with sculptural panels, caves, monolithic chariots and the temples besides the beach. Along the beach are the spots like crocodile bank, snakes and venom extracting centre.

Marina beach

Marina beach is situated in the east of Chennai at Kamarajar Road, 3 Km away from the city centre. The beach is said to be the longest in India and one of the longest in Asia. It extends 13 kms from Fort St. George to Mahabalipuram. It's 12 kms stretch is the second longest in the world. Bathing and swimming is dangerous here as the undercurrent is very turbulent. The Aquarium is close to the Marina beach which has some of the most exotic collections of the tropical sea and fresh water fishes. There are beautiful statues of Tamil scholars, patriots, and noted personalities on the beach and out of these, the Statue of Labour is splendid one.
